Kristina's 1991 Golf GL

How long have you owned this car?
I think about two years.

Is there anything unique about the history of this car?
I bought it as a winter beater and really don’t feel bad about beating on it.

Why did you choose this car to purchase?
It was there and it looked like it'd be fun to beat on. Plus, I had already had a red Golf.

What other cars did you consider?
I wanted a Ford Police Interceptor, but they were all pretty pricey. I thought that’d be fun in the winter too.

What was your objective with this car?
To drive it in times of snow and salt so my GTI doesn’t get crapped up.

What tuning style would you describe this car as? (ex. Euro, Bling, OEMplus, street racer, auto crosser).
Seven shade red paint is obviously bling.

Who helped you build this car?
I only fix what is absolutely necessary to make it run.

What makes your car special?
The “Winter Beater Society” sticker. Oh, and the fact that it sometimes takes on water and makes a nice mobile swimming pool.

What is your favorite part/feature/function?
It used to be the satellite radio, but now it’s the swimming pool.

Who or what inspired the direction of modifications on this car?
A few snowbanks I hit and Dylan drove it into the garden once.

What don't you like about this car?
It’s uber slow, even Carlton can keep up with me in it.

What was your biggest obstacle in building this car?

How did you overcome the issue?

What would you change if you could?

On a scale of 1 to 10, how satisfied are you with the outcome of this project?

What would you do to the car if money were no object?
Drive it into a canyon.

Who has been your biggest critic of this project?

What do your family and friends say about this car?
People asked me at first if I got my silver car repossessed.

What is your most memorable/humorous/embarrassing moment with this car?
When I pulled into the gas station and I had a bungee cord wrapped around the door handle to keep it shut. It snapped and sent the door swinging open in front to everyone. I could have almost been on “Trailer Park Boys.”

Has this car competed in any events? Results?
Are you kidding?

What is your favorite place to drive this car?

What is your ideal day with this car?

Who gets to drive this car?
Everyone but the dog.

If your car had a motto, what would it be?
Let it Snow

If you had to name your car, what would you name it?
S.B. ( Sh*t Box )

What was your previous project?

What is your next project?

What one word best describes your car?

Anything else you’d like to share?
It is a fun car to beat on in the snow. You can hit everything but the lottery and it never looks any different.
